Staley, James D., 68, of Boynton Beach passed away on August 28, 2003. Mr. Staley was employed by IBM for 30 years. His career included 14 years in Cape Canaveral working on the Apollo missions. Upon completion of the Apollo program, Mr. Staley was transferred to the Boca Raton IBM facility working in the robotics division. Mr. Staley also received his masters degree from FAU.
He was an organist for Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton and St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach.
Survived by his wife Augusta, 3 sons: George N. Staley of Boynton Beach, James D. Staley, Jr., of Lebanon, OH; and Paul B. Staley of Coral Springs, FL, 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Friends may call on Monday, September 1, 2003 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the LORNE & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 745 NE 6th Ave., (N. Federal Highway), Delray Beach. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 1, 2003, 11:30 AM at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Blvd., Delray Beach. Interment will be held in Omaha, NE.
