Hi Dick,
Sorry I'm just now getting back to you. My wife's father had a biopsy today.

The first census I have been able to 100% find him on is the 1880 census for Chicago, Douglas County, NE. It is him with his first wife Ellen and their daughter Emma. The 1880 census says his parents came from the Kingdom of Hanover. The 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses show Germany.

1880 says Chicago, Douglas County, NE. 1900 Census says Chicago Precinct, Elkhorn Village, Douglas County, NE. 1910 Census shows Court House Rock Precinct, Morvill? County, NE. The 1920 Census is back to Chicago Precinct, Elkhorn Village, Douglas County, NE.

I hope this helps.

Allen
