Help 1910-1920 Orphanage list in Omaha, Douglas County
Posted by: Marian (ID *****4652) Date: December 03, 2006 at 18:55:59

I sure could use all help and advice. Need list of names of orphanages for the Omaha, Douglas County area.

We have a registration number but no name for the orphanage that our ancestor (who was living in Omaha) was placed in aprox. 1912/14. Ruth, age 5 was adopted but her older sister, Fern possibly died there. We would like to know when Fern died and where she is buried, and the name of the orphanage.

Did the orphanages have their own cemeteries or were they sent to a Potters graveyard?
All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Marian
