Information for Soren Hvidberg, as posted at Douglas County, NE website.
Else Karoline Hansen, my maternal grandmother:
Caroline ["Lena"] arrived in the USA in 1904, although as yet I do not know the port of entry, nor do I know the initial location where she lived; it may well have been in Omaha, Nebraska.
What is certain is that Caroline shortly thereafter lived for some time in Des Moines, Cherokee County, Iowa, later still, she and Nels lived at Scranton, Greene County, Iowa. Here were born their first three children .... Most of Caroline's life was spent in Curlew, Palo Alto County, Iowa, where she had four more children, including my mother. Caroline died on 16 May 1943 at 3.30pm in the hospital at Emmetsburg, Palo Alto County, Iowa.
Caroline was buried on 20 May 1943 at Rush Lake Cemetery, Curlew, Iowa, as is her husband and many other family members.
