Hi Cindy:
My Brown/Melton connections in Omaha are:

Parker Varnum Brown b 1825 Middlesex County, MA I'm thinking he ended up in NE via the military??? He met and married in 1864 in Omaha and married Dorothy Melton. Their children and family all moved from the area in the 1880's to KS, CO, and spread out from there.

George Brown who married Lurainy Melton:
George was born in Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. His father and mother were James A. and Frances A. (unknown) Brown. I don't have them in IN at anytime either, I show they came from Canada to NE...but since they're not a direct I haven't checked them out thoroughly.

What I would suggest is writing the very helpful historical societies in those locations you note. That is what pointed me in the direction to find more information on the above for me. Course yours is much later and I would assume more information is available via vital records for their time period.
Good luck,
Judy
