Here is what I have:
John McKee. Born Jan. 1845 in Ohio; marr. Sinia Stillinger about 1863; died in Dawes County, Dec. 1, 1900. Bur. Marsland Cemetery.
Sinia Mckee was born October 1847. John and Sinia had six children, but only two that I know of came to Dawes County. Milford M. McKee, born 1864 in Knox County, Ohio; married Jennie Hayden on 17 Dec 1891 in Dawes County (Jennie was the daughter of another area homesteader, Belemous and Sara (DOWD) Hayden); Milford died Mar 30 , 1899. Jennie was born in Aug. 1873 in Hardin Co., Iowa; she remarried a man named Biery March 5, 1901. I do not believe Milford had any offspring.
The second child that came to Dawes County was Mattie Gertrude McKee, born Jan. 20, 1874 in Ohio; she married Harry H. Reynoldson in 1890 and died Apr. 28, 1947.
All of the McKees homesteaded in the Belmont area (south of Crawford, in the Evergreen Precinct. John operated one of the general stores, served as postmaster; after his death his wife operated the store; late in her life, with help from daughter Mattie. I have photographs (copy prints from various family members) of John and Sinia McKee, but have never found one of Milford. Several photos of McKee store, including an interview view.
Hope this helps. Contact me if you have additional infor or would like to talk.
