Matthew and Elizabeth Ann Richards arrived in Colfax Co. 1872 Both are buried in an unmarked grave in Grandview cemetery as is a son John and Daughter Edith (Marked Graves).
1872; Sons ;John, Edward. Daughters; Elizabeth,Jennie,Mary, Ellen,Edith,Olive(Ollie).
In Colfax they had Son Matthew Henry Richards. Daughters; Ida May and Phyllis(Philippa A.) Richards.
Edward never married, born in Grant Co Wis.
John ; no info
Matthew Henry; married Florence Shultz in Colfax. had three children;Proctor,Mason,and Burdette( My Father).
Elizabeth ; married Levi M. Abams
Jennie; married Herbert A. Powers and believe there daughter is Elizabeth Powers.
Mary; Married William Henry Dunn
Olive ; married Curtis L. Mayes
Ellen ; married E.N. Buck
Ida May and Phyllis never married ???
Last addresses of some are; Olive,Rushville,Neb
Ellen; Sioux City,Iowa.
Jennie;Fremont,Neb buried p6 Woodland Cem.
Witnesses on some documents are: Jane E. Richards, Alma E. Richards, Eva L. Peters.
On two marraige Lic, the maiden name of Elizabeth was (Roda)and the other was
Eodda ??? then on a Funeral home document of Edward Richards it gives his mothers name as Elizabeth Mitchell???
