I am looking for info on the BENNETT family
Found them in the 1930 and 1940 census in Plattsmouth,
Cass, Nebraska.
Elmer I Bennett, born 23 Jun 1879 in Clinton County,
New York.
Wife; Mary born in Canada abt 1896
Children; Charles born abt 1920 in Canada
Alice; born abt 1922 in Canada
Terrance; born abt 1926 in Nebraska
...Charles Bennett air plane was shot down over
Rumania during WWII and missing in action.
I found a Charles enlisted in the Air Corps
Dec 18, 1941. He lived in Cass, Nebraska,
dont know if he made out alive from
Rumania, Read the article below...

PLATTSBURGH PRESS-REPUBLICAN, PLATTSBURGH, N. Y
FRIDAY, JUNE 16, 1944

CHARLES BENNETT
STILL IS "MISSING"
Mrs. Lena Chapman of Chazy has
received word that her nephew,
Charles Bennett, 25, of Omaha,
Nebraska, is still missing in action.
An aerial engineer, he failed to return
from a raid over Rumania.
Mr. Bennett is the eldest son of
Elmer I. Bennett, formerly of
Chazy. Since receiving the first report
that their son is missing, Mr.
and Mrs. Bennett have had letters
from government officials and air
corps officers. Citations, medals,
and oak leaf clusters which have
been awarded to the missing airman
have also been sent.

Thanks, Bill
