My parents met and married in Box Butte Co., NE in 1922. I think my mother's parents, George and Bertha Hoard, moved there about 1919. I was recently told that my father's parents lived there for a time, also. They were Henry and Viola Adkins. I know that my parents met at the funeral of my father's nephew but I don't know who that was. It is possible that the funeral was at the Christian Church in Alliance in late August or early September. My parents only knew each other for 3 months before they married on Nov. 30, 1922. Is there a census index available for Box Butte Co. for 1920? My father didn't live there in 1922 but did live there for a year or 2 in 1926 and 27. He worked for a man named Parmenter and my brother thinks they lived with Mr. Parmenter and my mother kept house.
