Icelandic ancestors in North Dakota c. 1880's
I have quite a few Icelandic ancestors who immigrated to North Dakota circa the 1870's-1880's. I'm needing to find census records for them, but for whatever reason am finding trouble/road blocks on ancestry.com.
Can someone direct me on where to find their information?
Here is an example of one ancestor's information that I need to find:
Immigrated after 1860 from Iceland. Jon Bergmann Jonasson (b. 1834 in Gardsvik, Sudur-Thingyjarsysla, Iceland) married to Halldora Bessadottir (b. 1832 in Gautsstadir, S.Thing) with children Fridrik Bergmann Jonsson (1858, Gardsvik) and Valgerdur Elisabet Jonsson (1859, Gardsvik). They apparently were in Gardar, North Dakota by 1900. However, many other siblings of his were in Mountain, North Dakota. All siblings of Jon should have arrived by the 1870's or 1880's.
Anyone have information on this or where to find their census records?
