Hi Wally, In 1900, he's indexed as Ellen J. Part of his name is written over, but I can make out Ell?? J. He's also married & has 3 sons. They are Oden H., 4/Dec 1895, Arthur P., 2/Oct 1897 & Almer, 7 months/Oct 1899. In 1905, he's "Ellend" J. With him are your grandmother & Edward Iverson, 3 & Mabel C. Iverson, 5. I can follow the children thru 1930 & see them on death indexes, but not Ellen. World War I Draft Registration Card: Name: Palmer Arthur Ohnstad City: Not Stated County: Brown State: South Dakota Birth Date: 28 Oct 1897 Race: White Roll: 1877787 DraftBoard: 0 Age: 20 Occupation: Threshing Employer: Nels C. Peterson Nearest Relative: Elling Ohnstad-Father Address: Auburn, Washington Height/Build: Tall/Medium Color of Eyes/Hair: Gray-Brown/Auburn Dated: September 12th, 1918 There's a chance that the registrar asked Palmer how to spell his father's name. So, maybe it is Elling? That probably didn't help much, did it?! liz No Relation Notify Administrator about this message?
