Thanks Lisa
I just returned to this board, and now have more info on Otto and Olava Borstad and children. Otto came first in 1902, then 1904 he sent for his two oldest children Lilian Kristine,15 and Norman Carl about13, to join him in Finley North Dakota, and the rest of the family came over in 1906. I have just found the rest of Otto's children on emigration file on Surname Navigator webpage. Ragnhild Dorothea Marie was 15 in 1906, Fanny Josephine was 13, Albert Olesius was 11, Harold Eilert was 8, Hjordis Olava was 6, Hariet Dagmar was 5, and the baby Lissie Marie Adeline was 3 years old in this 1906 record. They came from Herslebsgd 13 ll in Oslo, Norway to North Dakota on the ship ROMEO. Their mother Olova Josephine is not found on this ship with them, she was diabetic and may have been detained, as the children were at the harbor for 2 days before they got on board ship ??? I can't find any of this family on Ellis Island records at all. Perhaps they came through Canada east coast, possible Halifax or Quebec. Also Otto had two nephews names Charles and Hans Anderson who joined this Borstad family in Spruce Home, Saskatchewan some time in the late 1910-15 era. Anderson is a very common name also but just mentioned them here in case someone else in working on this same line. Ragnild Borstad was my greatgrandmother.
That SURNAME NAVIGATOR webpage is really fantastic to use, Everyone should try it !!! Hope someone else is searching this line also. You can reach me at my above email address. Barb J.
