Michael ROSS, born? died?buried in Inverness Nova Scotia beside his wife.He married Catherina ROACH, when?Their children could have been Evelyn ROSS, born ?, Carolyn ROSS, born ?, Mitchell ROSS, born ? and, my grandfather, Alexander Mitchell Ross, born June 25, 1910, in Inverness Nova Scotia.Alexander married Mary Margueite CARON, on November 08, 1941, in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.
The story that was told by my grand father was as follows, the family was from another country, possibly Polland, or Scotland, we were never told for sure. They came to America between 1910 and 1915 to get away from the war. They landed in one of two spots, either New York, USA or Inverness Nova Scotia, Canada. From there they went to North Dakota where, we aren't sure but I think that Michael's parents, who could have been traveling with them, remained behind in North Dakota, as the rest of the family went on to North Battleford Saskatchwan.
The family were home steading NORTH of North Battleford. And they had horses and cattle on their property.
Grandpa Ross was around the age of 7 when he lived in North Battleford. He left home at the age of 15 or 16 never to return or talk to his family again. He travelled all over North Amercia, and he even faught in the Spanish Civil War.
Any information in locating this family would be greatly appreciated.Thank you for your time and help.
Carol
