Koehler's from Koenigsberg 1800's

Would anyone have any information as to how I could find out more about my
great-grandfather Julius Koehler and his wife Maria Wolf? I don't have their birth
dates or places, but they had a daughter, Henrietta Koehler, born in 1863 in
Ostrede, Germany; and a son, Rudolph Koehler, born October 1875 in Koenigsberg, East
Prussia.

I have no idea when they left East Prussia, but in 1900, Julius Koehler
homesteaded in Cavalier Co., North Dakota and Rudolph homesteaded there in 1902. In
1905, they moved to Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, where they again homesteaded.
Maria Wolf died in Edmonton in 1918.

I can't find any information on Ostrede and am wondering if this could be either
Ostroda, now Poland, or Ostredek, now Czechoslovakia. Rudolph did have a cousin,
Salemka, whom I believe was from Czechoslovakia. From family members, I know that
they spoke Platdeutsch.

Where do I go from here?

Thanking you in advance,

Margaret Branscombe
