I have been researching my ancestors that include Randolph’s and Jarrett’s from Yancey County, NC. I have reached an impasse and hope someone may be able to help me with some information about the parents of the brothers James Randolph (b.1790, m. Sarah Sams, and d. 1841, my gggg‑grandfather), William Randolph (b. 1797, m. Martha Bennett, d. ?), and Thomas Randolph (b. 1805, m, Kissiah ?, d. ?). Our family anecdotal history says their father was John Randolph, who was born in VA and moved to Yancey Co., NC. I have not been able to trace him back to VA, nor determine his wife’s name. I think John’s mother was named Elizabeth since Elizabeth Randolph (age 114?) was living with Thomas and Kissiah in Yancey County in 1850. I would appreciate any information some can provide.
