Superior Court Yancey Cty, NC. Fall Term 1870
On September 9, 1870, "Mont" and brother-Samuel Paul Ray got into a fight with Andrew Jackson Brown (who was intoxicated). Mr. Brown accused them as "horse thieves" During this fight Mont stabbed Andrew Brown several times with a pocketknife. These wounds proved fatal for Andrew Jackson Brown.
