I have some information that you will be interested in:
I was browsing through my volumes of "Heritage of the Toe River Valley" by Lloyd Bailey
In Volume III, page 188 it states:
Elisha Elizabeth MORROW married Ellis Melton !!!
This MORROW Family is well documented on pages 241 to 244 in Volume III
It says the "The family name Morrow (often shortened in local pronunciation to "Marr" and sometimes spelled "Marrow" in records"
So it looks like Elizabeth Mar who married Ellis Melton is indeed Elitha Elizabeth MORROW.
Her parents were: James Morrow born abt. 1822 and Surenia "Rennie" (Hampton) Morrow, born abt 1824. They were married january 6, 1853 in Yancey Cty, NC
Elizabeth Morrow is shown in the following census living with her parents
1860- NC,Yancey Cty, family 830
She is 6 years old
1870- NC, Yancey Cty, Egypt, family 94
She is 17 years old
1880- NC, Yancey Cty, distr-233, family 26
She is 27 years old
In the 1880 Census, Ellis Melton is living with his parents (with their 2 children), and Elizabethe is living with her parents
I can not find her after 1880, So another guess is that she was sick and went to her parents home to be cared for and ended up dying there. Because in the 1910 & 1920 census Ellis Melton is shown as a "widower" (can't find him in 1900 census)
