Hello all,

My first post here on the county genforum. I'm kin to all sorts of family by the name of Silver, Higgins, Morrow, King, Peek, Hampton, Miller, Sparks etc. especially those folks along the Cane River between Elk Shoal and Higgins community, many from Hog Branch (sometimes written Hawk Branch) and over on Jacks Creek.

We have the female given name Vaughtie in the family and I've noticed that it is fairly unique to the area. Anyone else have this name in the family? What are some early occurences of it and what other spellings are there?
