Linda,
Yes, I am related to the Yancey Co. Blankneship's, a few different ways. My Great-Great-Grandfather, Ezekial Austin, had a sister, Rachel Cordelia Austin, who married Miller Taylor Blankenship. Miller's father was Barnett, who married Ruthie Koon. Barnett had a brother named Micajah, and their father was Presley Blankenship and their
mother was Frances Ross. Presley's father was Ishiam Blankenship Sr., and his father was John Blankenship. The Blankenship's and Koon's came to Yancey from Rutherford Co., from which they earlier came from Virginia.

Thanks,

Tracy Austin
P.S. I told Gwen Bodford about the cemetery, and she went and done a survey on it this past Sunday. She estimated that there were probably 100 fieldstones in the graveyard.
Now, if we can figure out who lived around there in the 1800's, besides the Blankenship's. I already have my guesses, I think the Elkin's and Arrowood's, were also in that area then. My Cousin, Stokes Austin, lives on Blankenship Creek, and his Grandmother was a Blankenship, he has alot of info of that area, that has been passed down to him.
