Joseph "Job" Wilson

This may be a real shot in the dark! I am looking for information on my gggrandfather. All anyone can tell us is that he showed up in Sand Gap,(Jackson Co) KY sometime during the Civil War. He went by the name "Job" but his given name may have been Joseph. He never offered much info about his life before coming to KY. There was speculation that he came from either NC or VA originally. We think that he was born sometime around 1843. I recently received information that directed me to try Yancy Co, NC.
