Patrick: Elizabeth English married a Short(John?). 2 of their daughters married into the Grindstaff family and they all live in Avery County. If you check for them, the county seat is Newland. In the 1950s some of them lived on Goose Neck Holler, Avery Co, NC. Avery Co was split from Yancey Co. This is for Liz at Femarcher@aol.com
