Yancey County (Bakersville/Buladean)
Here is what i have. Margaret Short b.1792 and apparently this is her married name unless she is the aunt of the children in her household in 1840. In 1850 she is 58 with her daughter Mary Short b 1813 whom is now married to John Hughes b1816,they are all in the same household. On the same census living very close is Jackson Short b1825 probably her son. In 1860 she is living in her son's Jackson's house with his wife Elizabeth b1825 and their family. All the children are female. One of their girls is named Margret. They are now living next to John Hughes and his wife Mary "Polly" Short Hughes and there children which has one of the girls named Margaret. In 1840 she was living next to John's father Evan. Does anyone have more on this family?
