RE: A Query about Caleb Williams' lineage
Caleb Williams b. 1851 in Yadkin Co, NC was the son of Pleasant Williams b. 18 July 1823, Lace Knob, Yadkin, NC.
He died on 21 Sept 1905 in NC. His wife was Phebe Hutchins who died on 30 Nov 1851. He married Ruth Reece on
8 Sept 1859. Therefore, Caleb was the son of Phebe. Phebe was the daughter of Benjamin Hutchins and his wife Rebecca Thompson who married on 23 Feb 1809 in Surry Co, NC. (Surry CO, NC later became Yadkin CO, NC) Benjamin Hutchins was the son of Nicholas Hutchins and his wife Sarah Ladd who were married on 1 July 1764 in Charles City, VA. This marriage recorded at Weyanoke Meeting House of the Quakers. Nicholas Hutchins was one of the sons of Strangeman Hutchins, a Quaker minister who was born 1707 in VA and died in 1792 in Surry CO, NC. Strangeman Hutchins is a DAR patriot #A061241. His service during the Rev War involved furnishing supplies to the troops. An innumerable number of women have joined the DAR using the service of Strangeman Hutchins. Apparently, Benajmin Hutchins had a will which is probably on file at the DAR.
Furthermore, several women have joined the DAR using a lineage from Permelia Mackie through her father Benjamin Mackie and his wife Tennessee Reece. If interested let me know. The DAR Patriot for that line is Abraham Reece of NC. He died in Surry CO, NC on 6 Nov 1822.
