Hello Yadkin County researchers. This is addressed to anyone familiar with the Scotts of Surry/Stokes/Yadkin counties in North Carolina in the late 1700s and early 1800s. My ancestors are Daniel Scott and Anne Radford Poindexter, both born in Virginia, but moved to North Carolina following the Revolution. Their son Francis (1785-1842) is my ancestor. Daniel died in 1824. They lived at a place called the "Red House" on the Yadkin River, that is in present-day Yadkin County I believe. I have ideas as to Daniel's parents, but nothing solid. The rumored connections are interesting, but I have not seen proof. I have seen him called Daniel Scott, Jr., so it would seem that his father was a Daniel. But I have also seen the name John. I bet there were a couple Daniel Scotts in that place at that time. It would be good to get them sorted out. The GEDCOM database on the Poindexter descendants website says a John was Daniel's father, but I am not at all convinced. If you descend from these people or have a good handle on this and think you can help, please reply. I need my Daniel's parents. Thanks.
