In Reply to: Ellen Matilda Moxley 1880 Walnut Creek, Wilkes, North Carolina by chani atrieadies of 1642

Ellen Matilda Aly Moxley was born to Elizabeth J Hutchison Moxley. The father must have been killed in the Civil War. Possibly Elizabeth's brothers served with Mr. Moxley? Elizabeth Jane Hutchison Moxley is the daughter of Jacob Hutchison and his wife Alice Reynolds. Elizabeth's brothers were Hardin, Wm E, John Eli, Francis A, Elisha and Benjamin Cleveland Hutchi(n)son. Her sisters were were Nancy, Frances(Fannie)Clarissa, and Julia Anne. Ellen Matilda Moxely had an older sister Rose Anne, whom I have never been able to trace. Francis A Hutchison is my gggrandfather.

Jacob's father was Wm Hutcherson b 1752 Halifax, Va and was married to Marah. They moved to Stokes County, NC. In later life she sued him in court as he had begun to treat her as if she were of a lowly station and this suit was supported by her son Daniel. William's father was Daniel Hutcherson of Halifax b 13 Mar 1719 Halifax, Va.

Alice Reynolds is daughter of John Ashley Reynolds and Nancy Cleveland.
