Looking for the identity of a Susannah Stamper who made her home with my gr grandparents, John Henry Birchfield and
Martha Billups Birchfield in Tazewell, Va. and Cabell County, WV. Later in 1880 she was living with their daughter, Harriet Marrs in Mason County, WV. Susannah was born in Ashe/Wilkes County, NC in 1796. She said on the 1880 census that she was a widow and that her parents were born in PA. I find a Susannah who married a James Stamper in 1817 but it only refers to her as Mrs. Stamper and she, too, was born in 1796. Thanks for any help. Geneva Damron
