William Roberts married Ann Vandergriff 1784

I am looking for additional information on William Roberts (Rev. War pension #S17054) that married Ann Vandergriff 1784 in Wilkes County (my 4g-grandparents), Jacob Roberts bondsman. About 1786 William and Ann moved west into what is now eastern Tennessee; going through Washington/Carter, Grainger, Anderson and Hamilton counties by the 1830s (as did many of the Vandergriffs).

Did any of William's family from Wilkes Co move with him? Most if not all of Ann's family went also (her parents Jacob and Sarah died in 1828 Anderson Co, TN).

I have yet to find anything proving William's parents, though several claims have been made. Family legend has an older brother named Jacob Roberts that was also a Rev. War veteran.
