JOSIAH DAVIS (ca 1800 in North Carolina- after 1870 Sullivan Co TN). He married before 1848 Winaford Louis (ca 1808 NC-- 19 Dec 1879 Sullivan County TN) Winnie Louis was probably Josiah Davis's 2nd wife. There was a 10 year period between Nancy's birth and the next oldest child. They moved to Washington County, TN before Allice L H was born in 1849. They moved to Sullivan County after the Civil War. I have been unable to trace either family. Their children:

Alexander Davis married Nancy Tedder 24 Nov 1860 Washington Co TN
Alex R Davis, 81, single, parents not stated, died in Soldiers Home 14 Apr 1915.

Nancy C Davis (1848 VA)married George Bragg 13 June 1865 Washington Co Tn
Beda Davis (22 Aug 1828 NC) married Jonathan Phillips 27 Oct 1853 Green Co Tn
Charles Davis (1834 NC) married Mary Smith 7 Sept 1867 Green Co Tn
George Davis (1832 NC) married Dianna Gulley 5 Sept 1854 Hawkins Co TN
