David, I have a booklet which my mother, Mary Hartsfield Jones, wrote in 1977 entitled The History of Wake Forest United Methodist Church. The church was established on July 20, 1829 by Andrew Hartsfield, who was my ggg-grandfather. There were 41 people present who pledged subscriptions for the building. Andrew's sons, James and Wesley were present. The booklet states that four of Andrew's sons-in-law were also present, but the only one whose name I am sure of is James Wiggins. Mother also quotes deed numbers and registers, which may be of some help to you. How are you related? E-mail me if you like, and maybe we can exchange info.
