Pilot Mills and Central Prison personnel records
Posted by: Carla Townsend (ID *****0505) Date: April 03, 2005 at 09:07:02

My grandfather, Jesse Bernard Stancil, once worked for Pilot Mills in Raleigh in the 1930s. Does anyone know what was made at Pilot Mills and where their personnel records might be archived? Iíve performed a search on the Internet, but did not learn much.

He also worked at Central Prison and Womenís Prison as a guard in the 1930s and 1940s. I contacted the Department of Correction about personnel records, but they told me personnel records had been moved to the NC archives. The NC archives tells me they do not have the records. Any thoughts on this?

Best regards,

Carla Stancil Townsend
