I am looking for any and all information on the Kemps of Wake Co, NC and environs. Henry B. Kemp (1743 1818) married Dinah (? - ?). He was born in Queen Annes Co., MD (?) / Orange Co., NC (?), and migrated with his father Richard to Johnston Co., NC. After Wake County was created from Johnston, Cumberland and Orange Counties, Henry, in 1806, migrated from Wake Co., NC, to Wilson Co., TN, and then later to the Defeated Creek area of Smith Co., TN. Some sources have the migration beginning from Granville Co., NC, which was just north of Wake Co., NC. He died in Smith Co., TN. His children were: Rebecca, Murphy, Burrell, Richard, Solomon and Hixie (Elizabeth), I would lke to nail down the info re Henry, his wife Diana and his father Richard, and any siblings he may have had. I would then like to push the Kemp line back through New England to England. If anyone can assist, I would be much obliged. If anyone needs info on the Smith Co., TN, Kemps, feel free to contact me. I am also looking into intermarriages between the Kemps and the Rowlands that occurred in NC or, after both families emigrated, in TN. Please contact me directly via Email - I do not regularly monitor this board. Thank you all for your consideration. Gary Pace San Jose, CA Notify Administrator about this message?
