NC State Hospital circa 1910

I am looking for information about the State Hospital in Raleigh around 1910. My Great great grandfather was listed in the 1910 census as a patient. His name was Ross Williams and he was from Henderson or Buncombe County. He suffered a severe head trauma and was sent there where he died , the date being unknown to the family. As the family was very poor, he was buried in Wake county in a paupers grave or graveyard. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
