Adam Simms will uses the spelling with 2 m's. Lisa Simms Database shows 1 m. Allen Simms, second s/o Adam was wed to Temperance Hartsfield from Oglethorpe Co. GA. Bennett Simms and Allen + Tempy Simms appear on the 1820 Oglethorpe Co, GA census. Is this a migration of the sons? Adam died 1835 in Wake Co. leaving his land to his spouse with the stipulation that upon her death the land would revert to Bennett. Bennett died the year after his father. Did the land revert to Allen, and did he return to Wake Co.? If so, what happened to his children? Allen and Temperance Simms had 4 sons and 2 daughters in 1820. I have no indication of their names. I suspect that one of these was Allen Merrill Simms, my ancestor. Does Any of this ring a bell?
