114th Brooks & Kindred Families Reunion

We cordially invite all kith and kin to join us for the 114th reunion of Brooks and Kindred Families August 1-3, 2003
Siler City, Bonlee and Tick Creek. We start by 3:00PM at Bill's Motor Inn, US 64, Siler City to welcome the early
comers, often first-time folks. On Sunday at the "dinner on the grounds/now inside" (at Sandy Branch Baptist
Church) we have a speaker, Gene Popp, director of the Wake Forest Homeplace Museum in Winston-Salem,
who will refer to the diary of one of the first students at Wake Forest College, William Tell Brooks, who wrote a diary. He married Emily Forte and stayed in Wake Forest. Their only son, Capt. Robert Hall Brooks married
Annie Seawell and they lived in Raleigh where he was superintendent of the Old Soldiers Home. One descendan
was Roger Bruton Brooks who has been in the newspaper field. For more information and contact, Roger Babson
