What happened to WAKE County on the 1810 and 1820 Census

There is a Wake County on the 1800 and 1830 Census, but not the 1810 and 1820 census. Did Wake County have a different name, was it temporarily split between other counties in the 1810, 1820, time periods? I hope some here can help. Thanks!
