Chet,

I don't know if the information I have will help, but here is the Rhodes data I have.

In the early 1850s, a carpenter named John Nowell was living on a farm belonging to my gg-grandfather, William H. Hood of Eagle Rock. John Nowell was married (1822) to a Leah Rhodes, who also lived there. John's brother, Willis, was married to an Elizabeth Rhodes, and they lived in Wendell. Willis's son, J.R. Nowell, would marry Annie L. Hood, daughter of William Hood.

In 1868, after the death of William Hood, the signature of H.W. Rhodes appears on a document certifying the boundaries of the dower lands of Mary Wiggins Hood.

In 1878, Henry A. Rhodes became Eagle Rock Postmaster.

In 1882, Henry A. Rhodes bought the Hood farm at auction from the Hood heirs and then sold it back to my G-grandfather, Samuel Anderson, who was married to Laura Ella Hood.

C.L. Rhodes and Henry Rhodes were present at an 1882 estate sale of my g-grandmother's property.

Regards,
David Anderson
