William HILL, 1800's Wake Co. N.C.
Posted by: Brenda Date: October 11, 2001 at 07:20:19

I'm interested in any information about William HILL of Wake Co., N.C. I believe he may be the uncle of my gg grandfather, James H. HILL, b. 1804, somewhere in TN (parents from N.C.). James H. and his wife Rebecca CROCKETT lived in Weakley Co., TN from, at least, 1838 - 1880's. There is a record in Obion Co. (which borders Weakley) of a Power of Attorney dated 1847, initiated by a William HILL of Wake Co., N.C. granting Alfred GARDNER of Weakley Co., TN the power to sell all and every tract of land owned by him in TN. I'm trying to determine if there's a definite connection to my HILL family since it seems that this William may have never actually lived on his land in TN. From information on other documents, I believe a William HILL may have been the father of James HILL and William (1847 document)HILL. James HILL may have been the father of my James H. HILL whose siblings may have been Joshua HILL, Susanna HILL WARREN, Mary HILL FULLER, and Elizabeth HILL FINCH. If you have any information about these people, please let me know. I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.
Brenda
