Paula - I don't know if I can help, but I am looking for a Henry Jerome Brown, b. abt. 1811, d. abt. 1879 in Wake Co., m. Lydia Lane , perhaps of Guilford Co. They had a daughter, Bettie Lane Brown who married my GGGrandfather, Ebenezer Benton Burns, in Wake Co. in 1859.

FamilyTreeMaker CD#4 shows a Henry Jerome Brown, whose father was Joel Brown, b. 1771, d. 1848 and m. Retter Gill in 1794.

Does this ring any bells? I am intrigued by the purchase of "Joel Lane Home" since I have a connection to the surname "Lane" also.
