LASSITER, b.c. 1834
Posted by: Victoria Hutchins (ID *****3937) Date: March 20, 2008 at 13:06:07

Hello:

I've posted this query several other places, so I apologize if you've seen it already.

Iím looking for any information on the parents and siblings of my 2X great-grandfather, J.R. (Robert) LASSITER. He was born about 1834 in Wake County, married Rebecca Ann BROWN (d/o Spencer BROWN and Mary DEBNAM) on 28 Sept 1865, and died between 1873 and 1880.

Children:

1. Joseph Robert LASSITER, b. 1867, d. 1942 in Franklin County, married Louisa AYSCUE 1890 in Franklin Co.(children Joseph Lee, Parker, Robert, Carrie Louise, Hurley, Staley, William, Ruth)

2. Mary LASSITER, b. 1869, d. before 1880?

3. Fannie Alphrada LASSITER, b. 1870, d. 1922, married Hulitt White HARRIS (children Adeline and Lois HARRIS)

4. Spencer Harold LASSITER, b. 1873, d. 1934, married Susan Patricia LASSITER (children Addie Moss, Jessie, Joe, Frank, and Mae)

I suspect that J.R. LASSITERís parents were Reddick/Riddick LASSITER and Frances CROWDER, but I canít prove it. Reddick and Frances' other children were J.W. b.c. 1832, Susan F. b. 1840, Mary Elizabeth b. 1841 (m. John Calvin BROUGHTON), and William H. b. 1849.

This has been my genealogical brickwall for almost 30 years. I'm going on a research trip to Salt Lake City in April, so I'm hopeful to have some new leads on these Wake County LASSITERS before then.

Many thanks in advance,
Vicki Hutchins
