I realize that this is a late date to be posting but I am just getting somewhat familiar with some older software I have from Family Tree Makers.

I am a direct descendent of Edith Barker and Berry Herren. I live in Waynesville, NC where their oldest son, Eli Barker Herren, settled. My interest is in finding more about the early family history of Shadrack Barker (apparently the father of Edith) as well as the Herren family. I'm stuck on the Herrens since I cannot find who Berry Herren's father was, but the story is that the Herrens came into this country at Baltimore, eventually came to NC and stayed with the Barkers.

I also notice that Elizabeth Barker's (dau. of Shadrick B.) marriage to William Crye(?) in 1922 is in the marriage records of Haywood County.

Will be glad to correspond with anyone working on the Barker or Herren families.
