George ray in Wake co NC in the late 1770's

I am trying to prove that George Ray was living in Wake co NC in the late 1770's and the early 1780's before going to Wilkes co Ga in the mid 1780's. He was in Albemarle co Virginia in 1775. He had children Solomon,Samuel and Mrk Ray and possibly other children. I do not know what his wife's name was. If anyone has a resource that would show a George ray living in Wake co NC in the late 1770's or early 1780's please contact me at rsmith6670@msn.com Maybe a tax record showing he owned land or a deed record or any resource that would list a George Ray and maybe what his wife's name was. Thanks,Ross
