I have looked at ancestry and they show a Richard Everage and Elizabeth Johnson but I don't know the time frame since I don't have a membership there and can't look at the information closer.
I found a book titled "The Civil War And Yadkin County, North Carolina" printed in 1997 ... the following is an excerpt about a James Everidge. Clearly the author of the book has reason to believe that Elizabeth Benge married Richard Everage.
Also, it might be of interest to note that Everage/Everidge has been shown to originate from an Ethridge line. In 1830 Surry county there is a Richard Etherege listed with family members ages that appear to correspond to the Richard Everage of 1850 Surry.
It may not be listed as Everage, but Etheridge or some other permutation.
