I have all my Uncle James's children accounted for accept the strong possibility that Elisha Benge was his first born. Elisha died before James's estate records went to court so only James's surviving children are listed. I got James well covered so I know he is not yours. James married into my Tudor/Tedder family.

I only Know of 3 of William's children. He is known as William "Buck" Benge. His son William who's wife was Judith Chambers of Wilkes. His Daughter Melinda was the 2nd wife of C T Harris ( Champion Travis Harris). They had no Children. William's son John's wife was Amelda Hemrick of Yadkin/Surry. I also have James's son Alfred who married Miildred Hemrick. Mildred and Amelda were cousins.

William Buck Benge's line married into Elisha Benge's line in Wilkes.

With William Buck Benge he is listed alone with his 3 known children in Wilkes in 1850. Accept for his son William who stayed in Wilkes, the rest moved to Yadkin. William is living with daughter Melinda in 1870 and son John in 1880.
I dont know if he left an estate or Will record.

William's wife Catherine Caty Cook. There is a Catherine Benge and a Caty Benge in 1850 Surry and 1860 Yadkin. I don't know if William was divorced or seperated from his wife???
