Lawnes Creek Parish churches of the 1600s and 1700s

Can someone help me understand about the Lawne's Creek Parish church that was built in the northerly part of Hog Island in 1628? I've searched hi and low for an online history on this subject, but can't seem to find such a thing!

My understanding is that the church was originally built in 1628 and then, in 1640 it was replaced with a larger building that actually overlapped the original foundation.

My question is this: How long was this church in operation? Is there a date telling when folks no longer used this church?

I know a 3rd church was built further south of the first churches... but I don't know when it was built? Anyone know that date?

My problem is this... my ancestor was thought to have been buried at the "parish cemetery' about 1681... but which church? Was the first one still in operation? Or had the third church been built and that is the likely site?

I sure would appreciate some help on this dilemma.
