Don't know if this will help or not, but this is what I have on a Thomas Ayres of Patrick Co VA

There is a Surry Co Deed dated 12 Nov 1790 for Thomas Ayres and wife Ellender to Jesse Lester of STokes countyNc for 400 pds 150 Acres on North side of Yadkin River granted to ayres by state 3 Nov 1784
