Mary Beth, we have been working on our Bullen/Elliot line. We believe they come from Stokes County to Roane County, TN. We're stuck at Isaac Bullen/Mary Polly Elliot. We've always been told there was some Native American in the Bullen family, but not sure where. Dark skin, black hair and eyes fits many descriptions of ancestors. I'm trying to place this Isaac back in Stokes, as his son, Isaac Blaire, was a Confederate soldier, from Chimborazo hospital in Richmond, sent back to 'relations' in Stokes to die. What is the story with your Elliots? We have found several references to Catawbas named Bullen. I'd read that Scotsmen named Elliot had married into many tribes in North and South Carolina as well. I really don't know much else, but would love to know what you have on Elliots for future research. Thanks, Trish
