I just happened upon the Stanly County NC website and was surprised to see my grandmother, Ramelle Hall, listed on the most current post!!! I do not have information on Elizabeth Gathings parents but I can tell you that Samuel Charles Hall, Hattie Pauline Hall, and Lillian Ramelle Hall were the children of Samuel E. Hall and his first wife, Narcissus Morgan who died in early 1916. In late 1916, Samuel E. Hall married 2nd, Daisy Chandler, and had one son, William Lamar Hall, on June 24, 1917. Daisy died on July 1, 1917. Samuel E. Hall married 3rd, Elizabeth Ann Gathings in Dec. 1917. To this marriage were born two sons, William Clegg Hall, in 1919, and Albert Coyt Hall, in 1924. I remember hearing Clegg's and Albert's names mentioned but do not remember much about them. If my records are correct, Clegg died in 1996 in Asheboro, Randolph County, NC, and Albert died in 1994 in Albemarle, Stanly County, NC.

My grandmother, Ramelle Hall, was born in 1913 so she would have only been 4 years old when her father married Elizabeth Gathings so I'm sure she was close to her.

I may know of someone that may have Elizabeth Gathings newspaper obituary notice. I could ask if you think that would be helpful.
