"Bacon's Rebellion Officers" had two participants of the many named William Rowland and John Rogers,Sr. Surry (Brunswick, VA.)
In 1748 Brunswick County Virginia a Poll list contains the name Col. Edwards who was Col Nathaniel Edwards a member of the House of Burgesses amd later a Secretary.
In two deed book abstracts of Bruswick County, Virginia Deed Book 3 (1744-1749) there are surnames in addition to Rogers Rowland and Edwards which are common to the families of Stanly County, North Carolina. I theorize due to the dates that the families moved from Brunswick Co. VA to Stanly Co NC about 1780. Then the descendants of these families went to Carroll Co TN. Additional common surnames are Loyd and Green.
