My Daniel Perry moved from Montgomery (later Stanly) Co, NC to Carroll Co, TN at the same time as your Rogers family. The Perry's lived on Long Creek in Montgomery/Stanly. Because of the lack of records for the area we are having trouble with the Perry family but have proven through DNA that Daniel was from Montgomery County. You mentioned the possibility of a Celia Rogers. In the 1810 census there was a Celia Perry listed - born bet 1766 & 1784 with a male b 1795-1800, a male b 1800-1810, and two females b 1800-1810. She was living near Elijah Perry, and John Perry who were about the same age as Celia. There was also a James Perry in the county and he had a male of about the same age with him, possibly a brother. Elijah also had a male of about the same age living with him - possibly a brother. The Perry's who are listed in the deeds - Elijah, John, James, Ezekiel, and Daniel are all accounted for later. But there was a Jacob Perry listed in earlier deeds who COULD have been the husband of Celia. I know this is a long shot but everything in Montgomery/Stanly is a mystery.
Our Daniel Perry (or a cousin by the same name) fathered a child with a Sally Hathcock but he evidently married someone else about 1812. We do not have any idea who his wife was so are always looking at the other families who moved to Carroll Co TN at that time.
I will dig through all my info and will let you know if I find anything about your Rogers family.
