Also listed in the Hartsell book by Eunice L. Hartsell Sechler (a very thoroughly researched book):
See: Thirty Thousand Names of Immigrants in Pennsylvania, by Prof. I. Daniel Rupp, a collection of upwards of Thirty Thousand names of Swiss, German, Dutch, French and other Immigrants in Pennsylvania from 1727 to 1776 pp 247-249:
Sept 5, 1751, Ship Shirley, James Allen, Captian, from Rottercdam, last from Orkney, Scotland 288 passengers.
(This is possibly the beginning of the Allens of N. C. but this is just my speculation-worth checking into).
Also from same book, Fanny Emaline Allen married James Taylor Burris. Frances Emaline was from Chesterfield, S. C.
